Sponsors:
Two Paddles Canoe and Kayak races were pleased to have the following sponsors, without whom the weekend would not have been possible, and appreciate their dedication to the Mississippi River and the paddling community:
It was a great honor to have 1Mississippi.org as our Title Sponsor for the Paddle Weekend. Many of our participants signed up to be “River Citizens” with 1Mississippi so they can stay informed of actions and events to protect, care for and enjoy the Mississippi.
The Minnesota Canoe Association served as our Community Growth Sponsor and the Sponsor of the 5 mile Family Paddle Challenge and the High School Paddle Challenge. Their support helped us to buy a trailer to house our growing amount of race infrastructure and supplies.
The City of Champlin served as our Finish Line sponsor. Having the finish line at Mississippi Point Park for the first time was a great success. Many participants were able to enjoy the midway rides at the adjacent Father Hennepin Festival as well.
Paddle Dynamics served as the title sponsor for the Mississippi River 150.
Minnesota’s Outdoor Recreation Industry Partnership served as our Outdoor Recreation Sponsor.
Paddle Bridge Guide Collective served as the Safety Sponsor, administered the 5 mile events and provided safety kayakers over the last 5 miles of the course.
Chase Bliss Audio served as our Live Entertainment sponsor; Lehto & Wright performed beautiful music at the riverside performance venue at Mississippi Crossings.
Mama Drone served as a Major Sponsor and took hundreds of beautiful pictures as well as some drone footage.
Additional sponsors include:
Red Leaf Designs
Mississippi Park Connection
Liquid Death
Wilderness Inquiry
Urban Boat Builders
Friends of the Mississippi River

In addition to the 237 paddlers and over 70 volunteers, hundreds of additional people (paddler support crews, friends, family and attendees at the adjacent Father Hennepin Festival) experienced the exciting environment at the finish line.
People enjoyed visiting and learning from our exhibitors:
1Mississippi.org
Paddle Dynamics
Red Leaf Designs
Mississippi Park Connection
The National Park Service
Wilderness Inquiry
Urban Boatbuilders
Paddle Bridge Guide Collective.
Our vision:
Our goal is to use the MRPW to nurture and grow the Minnesota paddling community to include a range of demographics, boat types and abilities, and for people to use the MRPW as inspiration to improve their paddling skills and to increase the amount of time they spend paddling the beautiful waterways of our state.
The 2024 MRPW brought over 400 people from 17 different states/provinces together and we expect that number to continue to grow in future years.
People from other states and other paddling cultures and communities have come to the MRPW and been inspired by what the Minnesota paddling community has to offer. The Minnesota paddling community can continue to grow and rival other great paddling communities and their signature events such as the AuSable race in Michigan, the Texas Water Safari and the Missouri River 340.
Paddler Profile #1: Devin Brown, MR 150
Devin Brown of Minneapolis has been featured in numerous news stories about her plan to become the first Black woman to solo kayak the Mississippi from source to sea (MPR News). She paddled the MR 48 in 2022, the MR 150 in 2023 and joined the 2024 MR 150 as part of her paddle of the entire river! When she got to the finish line she took a brief break and then kept on paddling into Minneapolis. As of the time I’m writing this she is well into Iowa. You can follow her on Instagram.
